NYKA / Na Young Kim Architects is an interdisciplinary design studio based in Seoul and New York City committed to creating places that are meaningful to people and our environment.
We approach all projects with thoughtfulness and integrity to express holistic ideas rooted in our understanding of nature, human, culture, and art.
With great attention to both tangible and intangible aspects of architecture, we focus on establishing a sense of place for each specific site that fosters feelings and emotions through sensory spatial experience. Materiality, texture, use of light, fine details, and craftsmanship play critical roles in our design process and bring out the quality of our work.
We carefully observe and listen to our clients;
closely collaborate with builders, engineers, craftspeople, and artists;
rigorously research throughout the design and construction process.
We are a small dedicated team of architects, filled with curiosity, who love to explore.
Nayoung Kim AIA, KIRA / Principal
Raised in Seoul, Korea, Nayoung Kim moved to the United States, where she studied and practiced architecture for over a decade. Shaped by experiences in both cultures and ten years of professional work in New York City, she returned to Seoul and founded her own studio in 2025.
Nayoung holds a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from Yonsei University. Before founding her own studio, she worked at several renowned offices in New York, including Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, 1100 Architect, Murphy Burnham & Buttrick Architects, and Young Projects. During that time, she contributed to a wide range of institutional, cultural, and residential projects, including the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Michigan, the Goel Center for Theater and Dance in New Hampshire, and numerous high-end residences across New York City.
She is a licensed architect in both Korea and the United States (New York and Pennsylvania) and currently teaches undergraduate interior architecture studio at Yonsei University.

김나영 소장/ 건축사
연세대학교에서 실내건축을 전공하고, UC 버클리에서 건축학 석사과정을 마친 후, 미국 뉴욕에서 Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, 1100 Architect, Murphy Burnham and Buttrick Architects, Young Projects 등에서 10년간 실무를 익혔다.
2020년 서울로 귀국한 뒤, 2025년 엔와이케이 건축사사무소를 설립했다. 한국과 미국(뉴욕, 펜실베이니아)에서 건축사 자격을 보유하고 있으며, 현재 연세대학교 실내건축학과에서 겸임교수로 활동 중이다.
